our story since 2006

Stan inspecting Grenache grapevine Mill About Vineyard

2006: bought the 24-acre property in Southern Barossa and managed to save most of the 100-year old grapevines in the 6-acre vineyard: Grenache, Semillon, Muscat of Alexandria. We also planted new grape varieties: Mataro, Saperavi, Vermentino. It's forever a work in progress!

Tinto Rosso red wine Mill About Vineyard

2011: started selling our wines - back when "natural wine" was a new concept to most winemakers and wine lovers. Our Tinto Rosso, Barrica Rose, Ambrato, and Witchcraft are loved for their elegance, purity, exceptional taste and genuine winemaking craftsmanship.

wedding at Mill About Vineyard

2017: a major event at Mill About Vineyard, the wedding of our younger daughter! In preparation, we landscaped the beautiful native bush hill above the vineyard, added ridges to stop rainwater run-off, created paths and seating, and planted native species to increase biodiversity and provide habitat for wildlife.

granddaughters Mill About Vineyard

2019: two amazing life events - we became grandparents to sweet Matilda and Eleanor! Two precious girls who changed our world, gave us a new purpose, shifted our priorities, and brought about a new idea for Mill About Vineyard: a nature-based play garden. Life is now an adventure interstate travel, to watch them grow!

Dec 2021: re-imagine and rebuild an old shed to create a versatile, usable space. We called it Bonza - an accessible and inclusive tourist accommodation, welcoming guests of all abilities. Book here

Jul 2022: another precious gift: Eleanor's little baby brother Bruce Stanislav was born! Such joy, to have a baby boy join our sweet grandchildren's team! Can't wait for all our treasures to visit us again at Mill About Vineyard!

2023: trialled an idea, and it worked! We now offer a campsite too, at Mill About Vineyard. It's for up to 3 self-contained campers. Book here.
